Qualifications

  • CPR/First Aid; CPI or other de-escalation training
  • RBT credential (if doing ABA tasks under supervision)
  • Experience with specific diagnoses (ASD, Down syndrome, CP, epilepsy, etc.)
  • Background checks; driving record

Scope & boundaries

  • Follow individualized care plans; clarify medical vs. non-medical tasks
  • Medication administration may require additional authorization/licensure
